01 Load

Drop in a whole folder.

Throw them in from Explorer and they line up as they are. No picking files one at a time, no waiting for anything to load.

Yae (八重) is Japanese for eightfold — eight layers, one over another. Eight panels; hence the name.

03 Advance

One wheel.
Next image, or next frame.

Just scroll over a panel. On an image it moves to the next file; on a video it steps one frame at a time.

• Play at 0.1× to 4×, and pick how far the skip keys jump

04 Inspect

The one that caught your eye,
full screen.

Zoom in and check the details.

05 Retouch

Edit it,
right where you are.

No exporting, opening another app, and coming back.

06 Compare

Keep the before, right beside it.

Freeze a panel and it keeps showing what it showed, even after the file is rewritten. Put the result beside it and compare without switching back and forth.

• Show the same picture twice and freeze one of them

07 Tidy up

Everything at once.
Pick, and clear out.

The grid button at the top left lays every file in the project across the screen. Narrow it down by label colour - show only the red ones, say, and send the lot to the recycle bin.

• Drag a box to select many at once
• Right-click to move them elsewhere or rename them together

08 Extract

Just the part you need,
one image per frame.

Export a stretch of video as a numbered image sequence. It can keep only the frames where the picture changes, so footage that holds the same frame for a while comes out as just the changes.

• Markers remember the frames you pick
• Annotate the video itself and grab the frame
• Show the frame number, and burn it into the image

09 Export

Reorder the pages,
into one PDF.

Drag them into a new order, drop the ones you do not need, and export.

10 Share

One QR code to the device in your hand.

As long as both are on the same network, it opens on a phone or another PC. No upload, no account.
